1/4 PCD Diamond Tool Without Sacrificial Bar or Metal Bond Button

The 1/4 PCD Diamond Tool Without Sacrificial Bar or Metal Bond Button is designed for aggressive removal of thick and difficult coatings from concrete floors.

Without a sacrificial bar or metal bond button acting as a depth guide, the PCD segments can engage the coating more aggressively, making this configuration an excellent choice for demanding coating removal and surface preparation applications.

Recommended Applications

This aggressive PCD tooling is suitable for removing:

  • Thick mastics and adhesives
  • Heavy glue and adhesive residue
  • Thick epoxy coatings
  • Elastomeric membranes
  • Parking deck membranes
  • Coatings with silica sand broadcast
  • Other thick or difficult floor coatings

Aggressive Coating Removal

Compared with PCD tooling equipped with a sacrificial bar or metal bond button, this configuration provides more aggressive cutting action and is better suited for heavy or thick coating removal.

Because there is no stabilizing metal segment or button to limit PCD penetration, the tool may leave a coarse profile or deeper scratches on the concrete surface. For this reason, additional metal bond grinding steps may be required when a smoother concrete finish is needed.

Important Reminder: PCD diamond tools for epoxy removing are direction-specific (clockwise or counterclockwise). Always confirm your machine's grinding head rotation direction before purchasing or installing to avoid performance issues.

Mounting Holes:

Wolfpack/Iron Horse/ASL: three non-threaded holes diameter 9mm.

SASE: three M6 threaded holes.

  3. How to measure concrete floor hardness?
Rebound test for PSI hardnessA rebound test (Schmidt Hammer test) is a quick, non-destructive method to estimate the compressive strength (PSI) and surface hardness of a concrete floor.
Scratch test for Mohs scaleThe Mohs hardness test measures how resistant concrete is to scratching by using tools with known hardness levels. A test pick is dragged across the concrete surface, and the scratch is inspected. The highest-numbered pick that can scratch the surface represents the concrete’s surface hardness. Mohs scale ranges from 1 (soft) to 10 (hard).
